I have seen some reservoirs have a center divider.. Does this really make a difference?
The reason I m asking I have an old Danger Den round res with out the dividier and was wondering if upgrading to the new one ( with the divider) would make a diff..
Thanks

idea is that is slows the water flow down so that the air bubbles can escape.
I figure it also mixes the water around to make sure that you aren't sucking out hot water and any cooler water stays stuck in the res, but i could be full of crap.
I'm pretty sure that the center divider is there so it doesn't cause as much turbulence if there wasn't one which causes air bubbles. It helps a lot but for temperature issues I don't really know about that. :)

For temperature issues it shouldn't make a difference. It just helps divide the flow and lower turbulence, and ensure that all the water is kept in circulation. Helps take bubbles out too.
If you have too much air bubbles, obviously lowering the amount of air bubbles would make a temp difference. However, it seem having the center divider would lower your flow somewhat so it's probably not as good if you have a pump VERY low head.
I'm looking currently at the bay res with center divider, just saw you can mount LED lights in them...gogo UV dye + UV LED + UV res. :D

with the flow rate as insanely low as it is in a normal sized resevior, I doubt it would slow anything down by a noticable amount. it also depends how high the water is above the ledge. if the ledge is creating like a white water effect as water surges over it, that would be not so great. but with them coming barely half way up the container or so, a full container would have plenty of room for water to flow over it without too much disturbance.

if you are getting a white water effect as water surges over a wall in your resevoir I'd wager your pump is a little too powerful for your needs :P
I'm getting a MCP600 with only one CPU water block in the loop with a JR-120, hmmmm, hope there's no white water effect. :D
