Don't ask.

Like so many things that I bought from them I returned because of the "high" quality.

A normal joypad. How can it be screwed? Well, ask RS! I bought one from them, and it was so screwed, no callibration could help it. But wait, what about exchanging it? Guess what, didn't help! They're all screwed! :D

I bought a $30 headset phone from them. The sound quality and the volume was worse than on my $12 2 year old one(its just a very small phone that plugs into the telephone jack).

They have good R/C cars, right? Well, for the first 2 weeks at least....

I'm not saying that everything at radio shack is low quality. Some products actually are very good, too bad its not all of them.

I would assume you can get that by multiplying the amps by the voltage....I got the strongest 40x40 to be 130 watts

I bet these pelts would be good for a chipset or a video card

So that would be good to cool what?

At the Big RadioShack.com strores, they stock many differnet sizes of TECs, get 'em online too. They ARE NOT made by radioshack, they could still be good stuff. Don't remember the manufacturer of course (doh)

Oh...I guess I thought the BRAND: Radioshack meant that RS at made them. Could be wrong. Personally, I wouldn't trust something from RS to something as crtical as cooling my cpu. Maybe in a chiller block, though.

I have seen these in thier catalogue since last year and at that time they could only be ordered from their website. I haven't seen them in my local store as of yet. Here is a scan from thier catalogue i have with the specs and prices for 2001.

The manager at the local Radio Shack once told me something funny, " Yah Radio Shack is great, our products are built by the lowest bidder"

I bet the TECs are made by Hitech. Its just a hunch though. Is there any way to find out for sure.

Radio-Shack get their components from whoever happens to be selling them the cheapest at any given point in time. But, they don't mention on the individual packages who exactly made the component. You could get top of the line stuff in that plastic bubble package, or you could get absolute c**p. It's a hit or miss thing at RS. Up to you wether or not you wanna chance you rig with their components. Personally, I'll buy resistors, leds, thermistors, and some other small stuff from them. But, anything that could potentially fry my system I don't buy from them.

well it never hurts to try...I got a Nidec gamma28 blower fan from them... It was selling for $9.99 but I only got charged $4.49 for it..and Radio shacks brand was $14 something so I went with the Nidec.
