Ok, I updated my system today and retested my aquamark to see if it helped and it was cut in half.

My system was:
Intel 2.53
Gigabyte 8ihxp 850 shipset
512 Kingston Rdram 1066
1 seagate 7200 40gig
ati 9700 pro
Score: 36,230

Upgraded specs:
Intel 2.53
Abit Is7 865 Pe chipset
1 gig Mushkin Pc3500 level 1
2 36gig Raptors in Raid 0 with 64k stripe size
ati 9700 pro
Score: 16,480

What the hell!! There got to be something wrong with my boards configs right? My disk benchmarks allmost tripled but I lost so much of my score. I also benched my memory and got allmost the same score with the Rdram as I did the DDr 400.

Edit: I also ran 3dmark01 and went from 16000's to 13000's. I guessing there is something wrong with my video.

In Sandra's Cpu test I only lost a little bit, I cant remember how much but it was close to what I had before.

All drivers reinstalled? (looks like a board upgrade?) Were you overclocking your video card?

I bet $100 you didn't install (or re-install) the Intel INF files needed to activate your AGP port.

Start -> Run -> DXDIAG (enter)
Click on Display, and tell us if AGP Acceleration is enabled. I would wager the above-mentioned amount that it isn't. I would also wager this fixes itself almost immediately after you install the Intel Chipset INF drivers needed to support the chipset on your motherboard.

Take two diskettes and call us in the morning :)

IM having same problem only my score is terrible..Running asus A7N8X-X, 2800 xp running 400 sys bus, 11.5x mult, 1.75 VCore @ 2305 mhz, Maxtor 40g 7200 Ide, WD 40G 7200 ide, Pny Verto 5200 fx, 512 DDR 400 Hyper X, v1006 bios on mobo, Direct X 9

I run this test and I am getting a pathetic 8,994..Seems the absolute worst in the multi vegitation part where its down to 3.8 fps..rofl...
My old Iwill board with the 1.4 t bird blew this away..Ive been messing with this for a month now and Im pulling hair out...Any direction with help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

I have seen this before... first thing, check to make sure that you don't have antialiasing enabled in the video settings, set them to application preference if they are enabled to a set value.

HI..ty for reply..I have both antialiasing and anisotropic filtering both on application controlled. Fog imulating is off. got the settings in bios right that i know of, ie. agp 128, vcore, agp selected instead of pci, ect. Was messing around with riva tuner and was wondering is it worth it messing with that INsync with monitor setting? IM sorta stupid when it comes to vid card setup and performance so anything helps..Ty ahead of time. Dunno if it helps but i also benchmark against Unreal tournament 99/03 and I went from 80-120 fps to 51 fps all of a sudden as well..

Forgot to add I get same score whether o/c or not..here are my bios settings

Agp spread spectrum-disable (blocked, no option to change)
cpu vcore 1.75
graphics aparature size-128
agp freq- auto
vid ram cacheable- disabled
agp vddq volt- 1.5
8x support- enabled
agp fast write- enabled
primary vga bios- agp vga card
pci/vga pallette snoop- disable

hope this sheds some better light..

You want to set VSYNC to disabled or application preference, that will help your benchmark scores considerably.

Ok,,Ty alb..went back and checked and the vsync didnt apply to applications..turned that off and gained 15 fps..much appreciated..Still feel like the card isnt running full throttle..in gaming i went up 15 fps but still lower than what i used to have(80-120 fps unreal tournament..Any other simple stuff i need to check in bios or perhaps the riva tuner? Ive barely touched the riva tuner so I am apprehensive about messing with anything till someone tells me how..thanks..
