As much as I've talked about it... I took a picture or two of the '69 Ghia today...

I bought this wreck about 3.5 years ago... 367,000+ documented miles... was delivered to Japan and has been to more countries than I (FPO San Fransisco 1972 when it came home to the USA)... I am the 4th owner...

Was heavily customized, now is bone-stock... except for engine & tranny :D

OK... Back to SETI...

That is the exact same color green as my 71 Type 1 bone stock 1584 cc (1600) 4 speed. Droool I love that car :D Karmann Coach Werks made them a bit by hand if memory serves not sure though. What type of motor displacment you got in that puppy ? 1641 cc 1776 cc 1835 ? I am thinking of putting a 1835 cc w/ Pair of 44 Dellortos in mine :D Possible Mustang Eater :D

Do you think most folks know we are talking about Volkswagens?

She has a scat-built 1776 longblock & trans-axle... polished & modded dual-port heads (currently with a modded 34-PICT3... LOL)...

Going to have a pair of dual stage Webbers (when I quit spending all my available cash on computer equipment :) )

BTW, they were completely hand assembled, along with the 911 (for a time) & 914 Porches by Karmann... Ghia (an Italian) designed the car for Chrysler in the late 40s.. but VW put it in production 1955 after the demise of the Hebmuller (bug & factory)...

Bug On!!!

Ahhh a Solex 34-PICT3 I still have 2 rebuild kits for that Carb and that is what I have on my bug atm. :D Well I am learning something new everyday. If you ever think about selling those Karmann Ghia clue me in. They are expensive as hell here in California to get one in good shape. Either Webbers or Dellortos and your are set. Also I am sure we reached the milestone now :)

Umm not as big as you might think. You have the Gas Tank and Spare Tire up there. You could fit 2 small suit cases if that if they are hard shell.

Mustang Eater? Mustang's Stink in my opinion I beat them all the time...well I did beat them all the time. My car is currently broken...the altanator is dead and I have to fix it before I start racing her again. Anywayz Morph that is a nice looking car...and Maestro I love your truck...and compare your car with a more admirable foe....like a Porsche 911. <---Car I will own in 20 years. Then comes the F-50.

I can beat a Porsche 911 to about 80 mph but because my Truck is a brink in the Air. Its tough to cut the wind. I know the Porsche guy tripped out He pulled over a mile down the road and said to me that is the fastest truck he ever seen. I explained what it was and he was like where can I buy and I said good lock there where only 5000 of this type and Typhoon made during there production run. And that makes 1500 posts for talking about cars and Karmann Ghia. Ok now back to SETI Crunching Talk :D
