12 parallel pixel pipelines capable of an incredible 6 igapixels/second fill rate
Means it should have a core speed of 500MHz. Though what the "8 extreme pixel pipelines" are is beyond me....

Vertex programs up to 65,280 instructions with flow control
32 temporary and constant registers
Sounds like vertex shader 2.X or 3.0. Since all the predictions have been leaning to a lack of 3.0 support, I'm going for 2.X.

Sweet looking card there :)

they could get in big trouble, perhaps ati wont let them sell any cards for this. 500MHz core sounds right, although rumors point it at 475

sounds like a nice card i cant wait to see how it does and not only keep seeing the specs on paper ( monitor :D )

sounds like 8 pipelines will have dual alu's and will be capable of a dual issue, and the other 4(8 for the xt) will be single's.

from a yield POV this sounds pretty bad, if 1 out of the 8 "extreme" pipes are bad, then do they have to scrap the entire chip?

this is going to be a close one, supposedly all 16 pipelines on the gf6800 are capable of a dual issue.

All the specs I've read say that the pipelines on the 6800 are 16x1. The Inquierier had something up a while ago saying they had 8x2 pipelines that could function as 16x1, but that was pretty much dropped once more about the card came out.

Unless by "dual alu" you don't mean 2 texture units / pipeline... In which case, could you explain more?

right i'm not talking about texture units i'm talking about pixel shader units(alu's)

the gf6800 is a 16x1, 16 pipelines with 1 TMU per pipe and 2 shader units per pipe.

it IS 475Mhz on core and 450 on mem.
