Question: Is it a real pain in the neck to set up a gpu water block *after* you already have your water cooling setup finished?

Like, will you have to drain the system.. take the tubing off the barbs and stuff like that?

Arr, I bought the Maze 4 gpu block.. but not the kit (with the hold down plate and everything) and now I have to send it back to DD.. let them refund my money and reorder the full kit.. ($65 + tax + shipping to DD and back to me!!)

If I had've known it was gonna be this much.. I would've just stuck with the MCP600 instead of Mag 3 :(

- - *edit* and I'm sure it's gonna take at least 2 1/2 weeks to get the block back since I'm not gonna ship it till Monday.. and I have everything now.

obviously you need to unhook lines so yes you would need to remove coolant first.

Well if you implemented shutoff valves around each waterblock you would lose very little coolant but that would cost way too much and restrict flow.

Arr.. so it's just better to wait the 2 1/2 weeks or so for me to get everything back?

hmm.. maybe I'll just buy the kit now.. and just tell them to refund me $45 whenever they get the block back when I send it.. that way I might have it by Friday.. ..

lol after reading up more I wish they could just refund me 45 bucks and I buy the silverprop fusion.. but c'est la vie.. that's what haste gets you.*

It is much better to wait and do everything at once. If you hook it up already you will have to drain it and then pull everything out, measure, and then reassmble. Also go real slow so not to make any mistakes and get water on real expensive components.

If youre lazy as with most people you find these days sure go ahead and wait. If youre not lazy and dont mind spending some time go ahead and set it up then put in the gpu block later.

Yeah - I decided to wait.. it's not that I'm lazy, I just don't want to make any mistakes. I should have everything by Wed. or Thursday anyway - I called Dtek and the guy said the WW shipment was supposed to be in early this week.. so hopefully by Thurs. everything will be here.. that's not so long to wait.*

But still, thanks everyone :)
