Scotch tape or clear packaging tape......yea I know, you think I'm crazy!
This I found out quite by acident..but it does work.
I often use a q-tip and rubbing alochol to clean the core before a reinstall. Unfortunately this will just make a mess of the ceramic.
A dry cotton ball will take most of the AS2 off of the ceramic, but it leaves a smear behind...looks nasty.
Well, I wanted to be sure all of the little fibers from the cotton ball were gone so I used a piece of tape to dab at the core and to my surprise it removed the paste from the ceramic. I kept using a clean part of the tape and before long the whole thing looked almost new.
NOTE: THIS WILL REMOVE YOUR 'PENCIL TRICK' TOO.
Had to redo my own so be careful.
