Hi, i have a AMD 2600+XP overclocked to 2.3Ghz, the temp is around 56C Maximum Full Load and 40C otherwise or on a cool day. Is overclocking your pc safe so long as you keep the temperatures low? and what do u think of my temperatures?
Thanks

ur temps are way too high for OC. by having temps that high, u need high voltage for stability which degrades circuitry and add it with the heat would kill ur cpu in 2 years. When overclocking, ur socket temp should always be lower than 50C and ur diode should be lower than 55C. From the looks of it, ur diode is proly 60-65C. that can't be good.

Thanks 4 the reply, i use MBM5 to monitor temps, i wonder how accurate this is, a screen shot is attatched showing this on my Pc.
