View Full Version : What HSF for my mobo?
Hi all i just got my watercooling setup all up and running and am VERY pleased with it!, my processor is running at 36c, but now when it gets warm in this room my poor mobo is running at 45-49c! Does anyone know what would be a good cooler for this? If it matters i am using an abit th7-raid mobo. any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your case airflow is stagnant. I would advise improving the airflow somewhat. You don't need to overdo it. Just a couple of good fans strategically placed can make a world of difference.
The ATX recommendation is an intake fan in the bottom front and an exhaust fan in the upper back. If you're still running into problems with heat; I'd put a blowhole in the side of the case.
To find out where the problem areas are let the system run for a while and then shutdown. Now move your hand around the motherboard (ground yourself on the case) and feel for where the heat is coming from. The hotter areas is where the side exhaust will do you the most good.

Hi touser,
You can use an old 486 cooler, a BluOrb or another kind of North Bridge cooler on the market, but the best way seems to be follow the Richard's guidelines.
I hope it helps you :-)
