Ok I don't know what is going on. I hope I don't have to quit folding for a bit. It seems that my system keeps locking up. I think it could either be the ammount of Juice the system is trying to suck off this crap 250W Psu or it might be the CPU and or thr board. I sure hope not.

Here is wht is going on.
I have:
1 250 PSU
1 633 celeron @ 952
1 Tnt2 16meg Video card
1 Netgear Network Card
1 Creative Labs sound card
1 20gig harddrive
1 Sony Cdrom drive
1 Acer cd burner
2 sticks of Pc133 128megs a peice Vio at 3.5

1 22cfm 60mm fan on my heatsink rated current .17A Power input 2.04W

2 Small 40 or 50mm heatsink fan (1 on northbridge* one on Southbridge**)

1 Blorb on my Tnt2

1 Sunon 80mm (Normal) Fan in the front bottem on the case
1 80mm (Maybe be another Sunon) fan on the back case port

*Northbridge is being fed off the Power cable for the A drive (I cut the cable for it and I don't have a new one so untill I get a new one I am running the fan off it)

**South bridge is bugged off the hard drive power

I know you guys will help me out on this one and I thank ya for it.

yea, it does look like you might need a bigger psu for all that stuff you're running.

Do what it takes to get a stable folding rig :-)

fold on!

Thanks hooz So is a Enermax 350W PSU any good? If not somone let me know of a killer PSU.

Anyone ever deal with this company they have about the same rating as inflow and they have it 10 bucks cheaper 57 for the whisper. I don't know if I want to deal with them or not though. They have a rateing of 6.1 but I read some of the reveiws on them not the greatest http://www.resellerratings.com/vendone.cgi?PowerUp-Inc.

What kind of board? Can't you slow it down a bit? Mine that run between 800 and 900 run fine. I don't touch them for days. What operating system are you running? :(

I have a tekram s3proAU. Yea stan I can slow it down but the thing is if I do slow it down I'll have to change it back to 66mhz. It'll be a huge loss to the team I think it can run at like 7somthing mhz. I need a new PSU anyway. Its just the fact that I have gotten use to running at 952 mhz. Its going to be sad to drop it back down.

So you don't have any buss speeds in between? And what is a tekram s3proAU? I have never heard of it. Is it an "overclocker" board or not? I have a BH6 If you want to try that, although you would have to use a slotket in it. :(

With all the different boards I have, and a lot of TBirds running on 250 watt psu, I have never had an instability problem that was cured by a bigger psu.

No its not an Ocers board stan and I saw something last night that has kinda freaked me out.
I pulled the heatsink and look at the chip to see if it was ok and saw something kinda like this it seems that around the core the CPU green of the CPU has gotten darker does that mean I have fried part of it?

Nahh thanks anyway stan I am going to an Iwill baord it has 150mhz FSB maybe more once you flash it

What kind of heatsink did you say you had on it? I had a celeron 566 running at 890something with a global win, the old black square one and didn't notice that I knocked the fan wire off it. It ran Final Reality demo for a solid hour without locking up without a fan. Yes it was hot, but I never had any trouble out of the cpiu after that, so they are pretty forgiving, compared to a TBird. With a TBird I think you probably have about 20 seconds without a hsf if you are lucky. :)

Its a Volcano /// nothing much just thermalstake crap. My temps are running low although I'd like to know what the crap the darkened green is. I haven't had the heatsink fan stop working yet I make sure it runs. So should I try sending it back to Intel it was a retail CPU

I don't think I would worry about the color, If it has never been hot i think it would be allright, and like I said I cooked mine for an hour with no fan and it's still in the other room folding now. ;)

Well why is it so unstable. I can't encode MP3s(They come out all garbled) I keep getting F@H errors. Prime 95 says I have hard ware errors and sometime when I leave F@H running all night I wake up in the morning I am at a blue screen. Could it be that the CPU needs more juice to the core to hold at 952 and 980 and not cause errors?

What voltage are you running it at? Can you jack it up? I think more voltage would help although these problems are the differance between an overclocker board and a generic one. As far as top oc speed and stability the Iwill KK266R is the most stable thing I have. I had two 750 Durons that would go 1000 in it and they would not go over 900 in any other board I had.

I'm looking into this sweet little board by Iwill
http://www.iwillusa.com/products/spec.asp?ModelName=VD133Pro&SupportID=

Yea on the 66mhz bus I have three setting 66 73 and 84 on the 100mhz bus I have four or five settings but Its not stable and my Vcore is locked up tighter than fort knox. I'll have to vid pin it or just wait on the new board.

So are you running 83 bus ? If that is the case that vid card might not like that, Its possible your sound card doesn't like it either.
What you needed with that board is a 566, Actually that 633 is sort of goofy in any board. If you want to trade it for a 533 or 566 it wouldn't mater to me, I would just get rid of your cpu at default speed to someone, but I think 83 is a hassle in a lot of situations. If you wanted to try it I would send it you to try and you could send back either one. Matter of fact my 533 would run 800+ all day long in Abit but would not even run 700 in generic board. :(

Nope can't fun 83 or 84 whatever it is I have to jump to 100mhz if I go past 73 or 74 mhz.
Whoa stan you don't live to far from me if you in VA I live near Greensboro Nc
