My pump was working just fine then yesterday all of a sudeen it start makings a whiny grinding noise. Almost as if the impeller is hitting something within the assembly. So I took it out of the opened it up and nothing. I put it back together and refilled my system and it still makes that noise. Any suggestions

I have the same problem!! I turned it off yesterday to clean off my radiator. Turned the pump back on, horrible noises. Broke down and drained the system, opened pump up...nothing. I wiped some magnetic dust off the thing, but nothing that would cause the noise.

My L30 did the same thing... I tried everything... cutting the rod.. sanding it down... impeller mod.. just about anything I can do but it kept making that loud rattling noise. I ended up throwing it away and got my self a Mag3

yeah same thing here. just don't let it go for a while like i did.
by the time i replaced it with a new pump my lines were stained broen, and my rad was filled with the shavings from the magnet.

i had it do that for a month, since day 1 the system turned on
soo.... i got me an mpc600 pump, expensive yet i love it
i filled the system with water, and i turned it on and no bubbles in sight ( stuck in the rad i guess) but it did not make noises, and the system seemed to take less time to get teh air out of its system.

my opinion is get a new pump, im never buying a hydor any more, prolly a mag3 if u want cheap or a mpc600 like i did
