Which games "for pc" would you say has the most realistic graphics/ physics engines?

right now that would have to be farcry, for FPS action.

yet if your into flight sims, then nothing beats LOMAC.

umm I would say Microsoft Flight sim is far more realistic then LOMAC but its a good game to.

I was always impressed with Halo's physics engine. Although I've never played the PC version I'll assume it's the same. For graphics though, Far Cry is the most realistic FPS I've ever seen.

Just curious why you voted for Halo as a "best" physics engine? The only thing I can think of would be all the Warthog movies, of which you could actually do quite easily with FarCry. I've been playing with the editor and combining dozens of explosive barrels with one or three Humvees, Cart-thingies and those big trucks...

You can send a truck SO far into the stratosphere that it lands on the other side of the level... If you know how large FarCry levels are, you start getting the idea of the kind of velocity you can attain :D

If you are speaking in terms of actual "engines" then I believe the Havoc 2.0 engine is being used in most recent games for physics/realistic deformable enviroments. I know that painkiller uses this and possibly Far Cry integrates it to their Crytec engine.

Again, discussing engines, I would second Havok 2.0. But I think Havok will bet blown away by the new Unreal 3 engine coming out next year. ;)

currently i think so Far Cry .. YellowDart after next year maybe Havok 3.0 will come which will blow Unreal 3 Engine away .. point being that we can't compare future coming stuff with available one's :D

Havok 2.0 gets my vote. Very nice engine, it was used for Tribes2 also.

I am not literate in 3d engines at the moment, but I have been keeping my eye on Stalker:shadows of chernobyl, for some time now and I have been really impressed. Even though they do not have as much hype as Half life 2 or Doom III, It interested me to see a company come out of no-where and rival the previous flag ship games. If you don't know what I am talking about, head over to Stalker Website (http://www.stalker-game.com) and check out their movies, under downloads. in their first movie they demonstrate their physics engine and the following movies after that exhibit the game's game play.

Very true, but we have yet to see a Havok 3 engine. However, there is Unreal 3 footage out there, and IMO, it destroys what I've seen from Havok 2. ;)

That's usually my downfall... always looking for what's just around the corner, instead of what's right in front of my face. :p

Farcry would have to be the best one out right now. Just for its ability to draw images of things that would equate into miles upon miles in real life. I read about this a few months ago in PCgamer mag and they where just blown away at Farcry's graphics engine and its abilities. Most game engines up until recently have been very limited by how far they are able to draw things and have them equate into distances. I am sure that hardware was also an issue up until recently as well, but now the writers/coders are really able to take advantage of what current and future hardware are able to render. The Quake engine was one of the ones that comes to mind that where very limted as to how far of distances that it was able to render.
