I just wanted to know if anyone has had a Geforce randomly break. I just had bought an OEM GeForce 256 and it suddenly broke. It showed wierd dot and lines all over the screen. And it was run on a 83fsb with 2 case fans and an agp fan. Does anyone know what happend? I bought a radeon ve dual display and it works much better.

hey its great how you can make a broad generalization of an entire chipset based on one experience with the cheapest card built. I wish we could all make decisions bassed on 1 isolated experience.
Incase you didnt catch that thick sarcasm I recommend you delete this topic and start again in a more sivilized manner.
My gf 256sdr still works and I bought it when they 1st came out about 2 years ago I think.
Guess you just got a bad one :(
Yeah that is a pretty poor topic title, but hey I read it....
Think about how much money it costs to setup a factory to make video cards, how many people you gotta hire, licensing from Gov & nVidia. It just don't pay to make a crap product in this market- not when vid cards are so cheap.
I think you just got unlucky. It sucks but sometimes things just break - hope you got warranty, receipt etc.
Besides, the only component precisely common to all Geforces are the GPUs.
