Well i wana oc my 2.4B because im soon to trade it straight across for a 2.8C
i have the fsb at 144 (max or it doesnt post but its stable)

here are all my bios settings i would like to know what i should sett evry thing at most of it i dont know (exept fsb and ram MHZ)

FSB 144

DRAM FREQUENCY (MHZ)
333 (MAX I DONT HAVE A 800FSB CPU YET :( (CAN BE SET AT 233 OR 333

AGP/PCI FREQUENCY (MHZ)
AUTO (CAN BE SET AT: 66.66/33.33, 72.73/36.36, 80.00/40.00 )

VCORE
AUTO (TO MANY TO LIST WHAT SHOULD MY V CORE BE)

DDR REFERENCE VOLTAGE
AUTO (CAN BE: 2.55V, 2.65V, 2.75V, 2.85V)

AGP VDDQ VOLTAGE 1.50V (CAN BE: 1.60V, 1.70V, 1.80V)

SO ANY HELP I KNOW I WILL HAVE TO TEST ECT BECAUSE NOT ALL SYTEMS ARE THE SAME

COMP STATS:
P4C800-E Deluxe
2.4B @ 2604Mhz (144FSB only oc'ed with jumping the FSB)
2x256 DDR400 PC3200 Dual Channel Samsung on the chips they all say the same thing
P/N D256M400SA K4H56083E-TCCC Samsung 322
80GB 8MB 7200rpm
Ti4200 128DDR 8X
350w Enthermax dual fan psu
LG DVD+R DVD+RW CD-R CD-RW
Aopen 52X CD-ROM

AGP/PCI to 66/33

The default vcore is either 1.5v or 1.525v depending on the stepping. Try bumping up vcore one notch.

Maybe try DDR voltage at 1.65v

Leave the AGP voltage at default 1.5v.

how do i find what the defalt is ? shoul i start at 1.5 and try to bump it up one notch past 1.525

ok ill try that ill be back tomorow to tell you how things go

but how do i tell if the v core is to high?? what will happen ?? i can monater it but what am i looking for??

Run CPU-Z and see if it's a B0 (1.5v) or C1 (1.525v) stepping. Only increase vcore a little at a time. Check temps and test for stability. The higher you raise the vcore, the better your cooling should be. I don't recommend going above 1.65v for long term. The lower the better.

btw
if u want to go with high voltage get some very good cooling

lol this si the thing im running stock p4 hsf with some as3 (my load temps running at 2604mhz is about 42C
i just wana get about 2.8 with stock cooling

when u decide for big step caled ocing
first thing must be geting some serious cooling kit
then goes everything else ...

but my stock cooling is killer 42 c max on prime 95 2.4B@2604mhz

Stock cooling is easily good for 2.8 gig, if you have decent case ventilation.

ok well i have it set as
vcore 1.525v
AGP/PCI to 66/33
DDR voltage at 1.65v
AGP voltage at default 1.5v.

its runing good even with my 144 fsb but it still the same speed 2604mhz

so ill bump the v core up one and see how that goes
but what about the otther settings when should i bump them when do i know i should rse them

2.4bs were great overclockers icould hit 3.1 on stock voltage with stock heatsink

how is your DDR voltage at 1.65....i coulda sworn its 2.65..must be a typo..atleast i hope

no no typo why thats what batboy said i should set it at

why do you raise these settings? i rased my v core but no mhz increase so why??? what are the settings???

I said not to raise vcore any higher than 1.65v. Higher vcore does not make the computer run faster. It "might" help run more stable at a higher overclock. But, you should use the lowest voltage possible because when you raise vcore, that increases heat. DDR voltage or vdimm is the memory voltage. You'll want that to be 2.6v to 2.7v.

ok well im leaving th v core at the lowwest 1.525 because i think the oc is a good oc untill i get my h2o setupp running

it runs nicely now the oc isant big but well im good for now ill leave it at 2.6 untill i feel i need to go to 2.8
