Hey,

I'm having a weird problem. I was trying to update my version of Alcohol 120% so I uninstalled the old one, restart. When I get back into Windows, it detects a SCSI/Raid Host Controller that was used before by Alcohol 120%, along with it the virtual cd-drive that was used. The problem is that I don't have Alcohol 120% installed, can't remove the device (just comes back after I restart), and can't install the new version because it tells me that I currently have another controller installed at the location.

Any help? I don't want to have a fake virtual controller that I can't use.

Thanks.

Well, I guess here is a small update. I tried using the expert installation option for Alcohol 120% to change the "location" of the host controller. It was able to install and work, great. Except, I still have that stupid fake scsi/raid host controller and the fake virtual cd-drive that I can't remove and I can't reinstall and I can't use. Any help? Anything that I can do?

When you open alcohol click on "virtual drives" in the menu on the left (in the options section) then set it to 0. I think that should work but since you have uninstalled the old version and installed a newer one it may not. Uninstalling the new one, installing the old one and doing what I said above may work if you can't disable it in the new version.

good luck

What is alcohol? Nevermind the cdr program I see.

Well I fixed it, and that is not what I meant DaddyB, it was a different problem, Alcohol wasn't installed at all and it still had the virtual drives for some reason.

I had to disable about 3 system devices, then it stopped finding the host controller. Then, I had to search for and destroy about 300 registry strings that had "xmascsi" or "a347bus" in them. Anyways, I solved the problem and thanks guys.

I like alchohol 120% for burning and makig CD images but don't like virtual CDROM drive so I use Daemon Tools instead
