I have a tv tuner and I'm able to put the videos on my computer perfectly the thing is when I try to burn them to a DVD it has to be converted and what happens is that the video and the sound become out of synce.

Also what is the best quality to copy it when I rip it to my computer. MPEG1 or MPEG2 or whatever other codecs are out there.

THanx.

I have an All-In-Wonder card, and had the same questions you did.

What TV tuner are you using? Try to record in MPEG-2, 48kHz audio. Good DVD quality is 720x480 resolution. Many DVD players will not recognize 44.1KHz audio. If you didn't record in this mode, you'll have to "transcode" into something tha the DVD program will recognize. There's a bunch of transcoders out there, but they're not free. There are also a bunch of guides on how to do this, but they're fairly intermediate in complexity.

What are you using to burn? Depending on the program, you might have to demultiplex the movie into elementary streams (split the audio and video into two separate files), then have the program remux (put back together) and burn.. either that, or have the program put an audio delay.

OR, get a program like NeroVision Express, Sonic MyDVD, or another easy to use program that'll do the work for you. :) If you're not picky about how the DVD looks, those programs will get you started in the right direction.

If you want to go one step further, download DVD-lab (Pro beta 3). It's fairly simple to learn, and will allow you to make your own menus. Free 30 day trial since it's a beta, and if a beta4 comes out, you get another 30 days. ;)

When I record in dvd quality in a few differante programs then the video and audio is out of synce as if my computer isn't fast enought.

here are my specs:
athlon 2500+
128mb ram
256mb Video Card
onboard sound.

And No I don't need a flashy menu.

Thanx I'll try what you said.

Don't use Nero. I have had the same out of sync problem with it. Do a google search on "Nero audio sync" and you will see pages and pages of problems and not just with Nero. The fixes seemed way too complicated. I did not want to put that much work into it. I was finally able to make one with Sonic MyDVD. Even with MyDVD, it was not able to make DVDs with some very old deteriorated VHS tapes. Good luck, it is a common problem.

The problem isn't when I rip it I can do that perfectly it's when I try to put it on DVD it's to Big about 5 or 6 gigabytes.
So I convert it and then the audio goes out of synce I'm still trying differante stuff I have a few stuff that need to be done by the end of the week. So I'm in a little bit of a rush.

Thanx

If you can get it converted to DVD and its 5-6GB use DVD Shrink to compress it :D
