Normally from my own experiences when it's the Vid.card, You will get a series of beeps. Like one long beep followed by three short beeps.

I would try taking every card out except the vid card, and ram. I've had a modem fry once that caused the system to do this exact same thing. We thought it was the cpu. Even could smell it burning. Well turns out it was the modem that fried. But the system would not even post (exactly what yours is doing right now) with the modem still installed.

You have to think about this just like building a computer from scratch. The Video Card 1 Stick of Ram and check all your cables and jumpers. And if that fails to help then swap out the video card and then the ram. Essentiall you are pulling back till you get a favorable result or you have nailed your problems.

if you have access to another power supply, then try that. it's quite possilbe that it's that. i had a pc doing that, and it was the pos 230w psu that was at fault.

Your problem is very likely to be because of this:
http://www.insanehardware.com/articles.php?i=00003

I've found it applies to more than just the GeForce 2 as my older GeForce 1 DDR has the same problem... no post, no beeps, no signal to monitor but everything powers up. I have to turn off and on again for it to post and boot.

Wow, a time-traveller! What's the world like when you come from Storm? Is MS long gone, now only a story told to children at bedtime to keep them in check? (If you're bad, Bill Gates will come and sue you) Does Apple rule the world??? :D

Well I'm running Linuxsoft Winux XXXP on an Advanced Intel Devices (AID oh dear) 52.734693935GHz CPU and a GeForce 12 Ultra running at 7GHz core and 15GHz memory... my CPU cooler is old fashioned air cooling though... a small heatsink measuring an incredible 12" wide x 10deep x 50" high!

In other more honest words, skip had to sorta re-activate my account for me and it reckons I reg'd in 2007 :p

I once had a sound card that caused my system to do similar things. Just a thought . . .

Once I installed some new memory, and no post ! Double checked, reinstalled correctly, and worked !

Hope this helps, and good luck !
