Can a PATA connector be converted to a SATA connector?

I have a Thermaltake Purepower with not Sata connectors.
My question is if anyone had try to put a sata connector in a similar powersupply.
I was thinking that all I had to do is use the orange cables (I think they should be 3.3v)for the intel plug that I'm not in using (I have and AMD board). And then use the cables for a floppy connector and splicing them into a SATA connector.
Has anyone try it yet?

I will apreciate any comments. Thanks1

Thank you for the reply
I would still like to know if the orange cables for the intel plug (on the power supply) carries the 3.3v signal since I already have a couple of sata connectors that I cut from another power supply.
Or may be I just need to add a resistor to a 5v signal? Any ideas?
