I just ordered an amd athlon 2500 xp and installed it, but it won't post as a 2500! It keeps reading the same ol 1800 speed I had in it before. I reformatted my raid array and installed a fresh xp on it. Before that I reset the cmos/bios but that didn't help. When I try to set the correct bus speed in the bios to 166, I get a bsod that says something about my bios not supporting apci or something like that. Anyone have any ideas?
When I had first installed it, the post screen told me to go into te bios to reset the cpu settings but I didn't know what I was looking for. I do have the latest bios and chipset drivers so that can't be it.
My setup:
Amd Athlon 2500xp
DFI Lanparty Nforce 2 Rev b.
Generic pc 2100 ram
Zalman 400 watt psu
2 80 gb Barracudas
Geforce 3 Ti200
