I just got a nice 20" monitor with the Sony tube which is awesome. I also picked up a cheep Afreey 10x DVD, so now I can watch DVD's on my comp. Infact I watched one last ngiht. It was quite nice, and alleviates the need for a DVD player+TV. Not to mention the resolution kicks my Sony TV's BUTT!

Anyway, eventually I'll be either moving my comp or moving myself outta my house. Whenever this happens I won't be near the TV I use. If I move outta my house then I get to take my little 13" Commodore 64 screen which I can use as a TV by running through a VCR. But now, my monitor is a decent size...

So I'd liek to put in a TV card. The ATI card is nice, but I've already got a DC10+ capture card for video editing.

If I use a VCR, I can plug cable into it and use it as a TV tuner. Then I could run the line out to my DC10 plus card. This should work and all....but is there software I can get that will run my DC10 plus card at full screen video and high quality capture so I can watch TV quality on my monitor using the DC10 plus card?

That'd be really cool, so if anyone has any ideas how to go about doing this, that'd really be helpful.

I'm pretty sure you can't unless you put the card in capture mode whenever you wanted to watch TV... doesn't pinnacle make a TV tuner card? Or a capture/tuner model for more $$ ? That might answer your question, as they won't just give features away...

Yeah I can get a nice card pretty cheap...even the ATI card which I kinda like is only about 40-50 bucks. Just was curious if my current setup would do much...also, I'm running outta room on my A7V! I lost a PCI slot with my gf2 mx's cooling fan! But I got one left that I should put a NIC in....hmmm maybe if I get an AMR modem...thatd free one up!
