Diablo II backup.

I'm going to format my hard drive and reinstall Windows. Is there a way to backup the DiabloII data and saved games so I don't lose my charachters?

Sorry, ghosting the hard drive isn't an option.

Can you save the entire directory for it on another PC? All you'd have to do then is reinstall when you get it back up and running then paste that saved directory over the newly installed one. Works with some of the games I play anyways...

What you want to do (assuming this is an offline char). Is just copy all the charname.* files to somewhere safe.

Once you get diablo re-installed, just copy all those files back into the /d2/save, and wa-la.
