a64 again

hi all!

can anyone tall me what athlon 64 windows compatible cpu means?
is the a 64 would not work with all windows software?
and i was thinking either asus or abit mobo to get but what is the diff between the kt8 .... boards and the nforce 3 which board do u guuys highly recomend?

It means that it is compatable with 64 bit applications, right now you are using 32 bit mostlikely. the A64s will run 32 bit apps too. right now the best mobos are the shuttle AN50R and the gigabyte GA-K8N Pro but socket 939 is comeing out soon so you mgiht want to wait for that.
