Is there a way to boot up in pure DOS using Windows ME?
There are no options for it that I can find.
Thanks
Nope. Have to use a boot disk from win 98-95 or hack a win me boot disk.

This thread should be in Software and Operating Systems.
You can choose option 4 on on a Win ME Boot Disk which is Minimal Boot. And that is basically a pure DOS enviroment.

You can actually restore WinME to include DOS mode with a patch, details of this patch can be found Here (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?threadid=29580)

Mr B
Here is a handy file that will create a pure dos boot disk for bios flashing or whatever you need a pure dos mode for.

I personally wanted to use dos on Win me for games that use dos mode. I haven't tried the patch yet.
But I wanted some opinions on it before using it.
BTW, using minimal boot dosen't work.
Thanks

besides what Unseenmenace has said you may also need a program that slows down your CPU as most of the newer PC's run to fast for the older DOS games, some games will work some wont so you may get lucky. You can find these programs at www.techtv.com
