system is
2400+
786mb pc2100 ram
radeon 8500 128mb
7JKD chaintech MB
Winblows XP pro
all drivers are up-to-date, as is windows
everything at default speeds for testing
should be everything relavent to the card, if further info needed ask :D
Oaky, my card is acting, well weird to say the least. When playing some games, it will freeze, my monitor will turn black, sometimes shut off, then come back all artifacts, horizontally across the screen, then either go back to the game, or stay black. If it says black I can ctrl/alt/del and exit the game, and be fine. I have yet to find any set standard for why this is happening. The games it doesn't freeze in is CS, UT2k3, NFS:U, Q3 and Halo. The games it does freeze in are: UT2k4, CoD (quite often), painkiller, farcry. Seomtime UT2k4 will run for about an hour before doing it, and only do it once. I have tried about every version of ATi drivers I can find (or that will install) and that doesn't halp. But I use the drivers that don't have the "vpu recovery" the game will just lock, but with vpu recovery ti does as I've said above. I've even uninstalled the ATi drivers, and played (with just defaul drivers windows assigns) and it still stalls. I have no tried putting the card in another system yet to see if this happens. Tomorrow I will be getting a mx440 to test if it's my system, or the card or not. I'm just stumped on this. I've tred just about everything short of a fresh format.
