dsl modem question

i just bought a 8 port router, but i didnt know that i needed an external dsl modem...

can you guys please suggest a good but cheap dsl modem?

do all dsl modems work for all companies??? i have qwest dsl... so do i need to find a dsl modem that is compatible with this company? thanks in advance...

Personally, I would call Qwest and see which they recommend. Some companies refuse to use just any modem even if it is known to work with their system.

Get a few names and model numbers from them then find the cheapest one. Mine is a Fujitsu SpeedPort modem provided by Verizon. I don't remember who made my old one...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Qwest used the Cisco 675 model router. I could be mistaken, which wouldn't be the first time.
