I will be buying a duron 850 (unknown stepping) with a volcano II on an Iwill KK266. I will be using the Antec SX830 case with the 2 included case fans. How high do you think I will be able to overclock to?

around 1.1 but u'll have to add to ur case cooling. how many cfm at the moment?

I'd say a gig for starters, probably about 1050. As train22 said, you probably will have to get better cooling to get the really high overclocks (though those two case fans ought to do a pretty good job). More voltage would help as well, but I'd worry about cooling first (and only if it's a problem). Of course, some chips are better at ocing than others, some are worse - could be yours will barely do a gig, or even less (only if you're really unlucky). Likewise, if you are really lucky, you might be able to do 1.1gigs at 1.85V - just get the chip and see, I don't think there's too much point in trying to guess at an oc when you don't know how good the chip is (with pretested cpus it's a different matter).

I would suggest having a look at the CPU database on the front of the site however most Durons generally do around a 200 - 250 mhz overclock providing you can keep them cool, to exceed this you generally have to increase the voltage of the CPU. There are exceptions to this however such as the 600 Duron which is an exceptional overclocker

Volcano II is 36 cfm, I'm not sure about the 2 case fans but they are standard antec 80 mm fans.

I can get a duron 850 for $57 shipped or a Duron 600 for 46.50 shipped. Which should I buy? 600?

I would shop around bit for the cpu there are prices out there that are cheaper. Pricewatch.com :D Durons are about all the same as was stated.
