i dont think its nv trying to sell the card at that price, i think gameve is price gouging. seriously, who in their right mind would blow $600 on that card? hell, who in their right mind would spend $600 an any video card? i think once the card actually hits the market the price will come down to its expected $500 retail.

The x800PRO retails for $399. You should be able to find it for $350 pretty easily.

Agreed. This is just for the desperate people who absolutely must have this video card first. Once the card starts appearing in stores, the price will come down to at least $500, maybe lower in some places.
It'll be in someone's sig here soon, if it already isn't. That's the nature of the beast. If you could assure someone that they would be the first or even just one of the first to have one, you could almost name your price.

As soon as it hits the shelves and demand has levelled out against stock I imagine the price will drop about $100.00, if not more. I'm still curious as to the price on the 512mb version. Plus ATI's next release will move the price depending on who spanks who.

merely an example of $450. if they can be had for $350 from a reputable reseller, then lets see some links, rather than baseless claims.
im not saying they cant be had for $350, rather how funny it is that no one claiming that price even bothers to paste a link.

nice try......
till you click the link to buy.com and get that the product is unavailable.
not just out of stock and happy to sell it to you under backorder, but totally unavailable.
compusa's 10% is no longer good either. so its $399 + .01 shipping. not $450, but not $350 either.

But people DID get them for $359. The point is that if you search around and wait maybe a week or two, you CAN get the x800pro for ~$350

im not trying to argue about this, as thats senseless.
however, a few DID, doesnt mean you can now.(didnt take buy.com long to kill that deal) hence, no active links at $350.
and wait a week or two isnt the point either, as i can easily say that if you wait six months you could pick one up for $250. this IS about what you can buy now, not later.
personally i think if everyone would wait a while, till a couple highly anticipated games come out that is, it would help drop the price that much quicker in order to help drive sales.
