prime95 v23.8.1

i can pass self-test 1024k, test #1-5.

but, when the next series of test begins, i get stuck at test 3.
how long should this test take? is it possible that the program has crashed, without failing? my temps are 3 above idle now, while this test #3 is still running. should i restart it, or just let it sit there at test #3 all day? also i can hear me hard disk spinning like crazy.

Do you experience lockups with Prime95 running? I do sometimes.

I think the test is still working is just that it's taking a long long time. When you look at the Prime95 icon in your systray is it still red? If it is red that means it's still continuing and it takes a while. If it's a yellow icon it will indicate it stopped with an error or warning. Well that's how i see if its working or not when i look over the systray and the computer hasn't locked up.

everything is fine and normal - the mouse gets jerly, hard disk spinning like no tomorrow, and the task bar icon is red.

i never knew that the test would take more then 45mins to complete.

i bumped fsb to 263, and it will run 45min.

Mine locks up sometimes, I pressumed it had crashed?? Ijust been restarting and lowering fsb...

i'm always able to browse the web and chat and stuff when i run prime95 maybe its not stressing it enough?

Depends on which Stress test you picked. It will eat up your ram. When it eats up your ram, you're system slows down a lot. It looks like it is has froze but it hasn't, check the clock to see if it is still running. If it is red, it means it is running. Yellow means it has stopped. But when you just ran Prime95, it's red by default even though it has run yet.
