I finally got my new water cooled rig up and running. It consists of:

DD cooling cube
108 CFM fan on the cube
DD Maze2-1 new revision but no pelt yet
Maxi-Jet 1200 295 GPH pump
Food grade tubing
A temporary plastic res

Ambient is 25c
Core right now only 28c stable

I chipped my duron 600 and for some reason it will only run at 900 with 1.85v. Before It was chipped it would run at 1050 1.85v air, 1104 2.05v air or 1200 2.33v water cooled. I really don't care since I just ordered a 1.33 AYHJA from newegg today. The duron will be my backup. None the less I am very pleased with my temps even though my duron is no longer at 100% of stock.

Sounds like a healthy system. Don't feel bad about your Duron. I chipped the corner off my best Bird while mounting a Glaciator. In my defense it was prepped for pelts and had no feet. It's down 100 MHz, even with pelts. Oh well, there is a computer show next weekend. The best thing about AMDs is they are fast and cheap!;)

There seems to be no logical reason I can think of for a chip to run slower after it has been chipped. If the substrate itself were chipped nothing would work. I am not really dissapointed since I just ordered a 1.33 AYHJA. I was planning on the upgrade regardless of what happened to my duron.

I think the cache may be on the corners of the chip. One thing you can do to protect from further damage is to put some clear nail polish on the damaged area. Clean the CPU with dish soap and water first. After it's dry, put Scotch tape on top of the die and paint the damaged area. Remove the tape right away, starting on the side opposite the damaged area. DON'T get any nail polish on top of the die!

I'll have to give that a try. It seems like it should be just as overclockable or not work at all.
