if you need more info just ask ICQ 54841125 or E-mail :)~
Welcome to the Forum!
Before you can do anything, please tell us the temperatures that you get right now. Because golden orbs are not very good when it comes to overclocking, and cooling is probably the most important part.
You can go to CPU Database (http://overclockers.cssftware.com/cpudb/index.cfm) and see how far people pushed your chip, and what boards they've used.
Than you can read some overclocking tips (http://www.overclockers.com/topiclist/index20.asp#OVERCLOCKING EXPERIENCES AND TIPS) , and get to know the subject better.
Make sure you ask any question you have. Stick around in this forum, and you'll get there!
I just weent into my Bios and made my pc a 1770
lol just 70mhx hey but it was in my bios options
My Temp is on the 1.7gig
was
MB- 25oC/77oF
CPU- 68oC/154oF
Tr2-25oC/77oF
I did not put the Artic Silver 2 Yet...
not sure if it will make it cooler
What is a Good Way to Cool Down the PC?
I Live in Canada/Montreal And there is not much i can find im only 17 and my dad will not Orderonline ;*(
I whanted a Blizzard Whater Cooling System but its 325$Can
and not sure how to install it...so what would be good to add to it? like more fans.....im not sure what to add and you toled me to go to http://www.overclockers.com/topiclist/index20.asp#OVERCLOCKING EXPERIENCES AND TIPS
but im not sure what i need to read for me?
Check your ICQ msg archeve if you forgot something! :)
Np i will read...just need a URL to read more about it

I've been able to successfully and easily overclock mine to 1869 (110 mhz fsb). I'm also using the stock heatsink and fan at temps around 115 idle and 134 (+/-1) under load. I do have problems running 3d apps without better cooling. I'm most likely going to buy a DangerDen waterblock this month. Also will be using one of my peltiers to help cpu temps reach 0 - 10 degrees F then i'll see how far it'll overclock.

Cool, someone else that lives in Montreal! Welcome to the forums. If you've never OC'ed anything before, I suggest you do a little reading around the site for a bit, before you try anything. I'd also be a weee bit leary of jumping straight into watercooling as your first OC.

I would not attempt to overclock your CPU until you get your temps down below 40C at full load your temps are way to high rite now and if you overclock it its very possible you could burn it up.
A) Get better HSF
B) Go into bios and set FSB to 118
C) Disable rdram turbo mode
Mine runs 2040 just fine with a delta 38 fan adapted to fit the oem heat sink. Runs about 125-130 under full load. Got it up to 2200 with a water block, but it wasn't stable enough.

ok i got it down 2 around 41oC in idel ;) <--CPU Temp
and MB temp is 28oC
read my post on http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?postid=205505#post205505
to get a idea of what i whant to do ;)
HSF = heat sink and fan.
Uhh - just noticed your cpu temp  You've need to get better cooling asap and quit running your system until you do - 70C is asking for trouble in a big way - and you're not going to be doing much overclocking at that temp.
read the one over youres <--------

I dont know much about intel oc/ing but i would ALLWAYS use Arctic silver II ...it is susposed to drop your temps 1-3deg C..and every bit helps......also are u running your computer opend or closed? that does make a differnce most times.. opend is better unless you have like the case moded with intake fans and exaust fans installed..i dont so i keep it opend. good luck but check out the guides and all....READ UP Befour u do anything. :)
i have AC2 it weent down from 60oC to around 40oC now and im goign down 2 30oC ween i get a CLick that broke off ween i MOD my Tower ;)~ its a CLick to hold the Heat Sink in Place now my HeatSink is only HAlf On the CPU;) i have to wait for ASUS to send me it its ben allmots 2 weeks now ;(
Hey i just whanted to updayt my tread so im gething a New 12-bay tower from Antec SX1240 and i finaly got my CPU tmp at 30 idel it weent down ;) finaly i got a Exaust Pipe for My Vcard and im gething more colling heres a Pic :)

but im not sure what i need to read for me? You have a program on your motherboard disk called Asus probe. Install this program and select the option to run cpu cooling under the settings tab. When you install this program you may have to adjust your cpu temp threshold because the default is 60c and your running 8c above that. Your case alarm may alert you. I can tell you right off that something is wrong because I am running the exact same setup and my temp has never gone over 51c even though my FSB is set to 112 and my indicated speed 1.9. How is you case from a cooling standpoint? You have an advantage living in Canada. When all else fails just open the window. We are more or less pioneering in an area that is very lonely. There is very little info on the main site for P4 people. There is a member named TC who is running at 2.0mhz with our setup (I'm not sure about his cooling. You can find him at the thread under Intel CPU's named "what cpu are you running. I just message him when I need advice.
thx for the tip i found that Asus Probe gives me a collers temp them MB5 and now im running at 1865mhz from a 1700 and im at 35oc now :) so it weent down allot i added new fans and on a COOL day it drops down tooo 20oC and Under ;)
But m gething it cooler now im gethign a 12-bay Tower :)
so theres gona be more room for Fans lol its the Antec Sx1240
you can see it on there webpage if you whant
-ps-
i cant seem to get my pc to a 2gig i trie 115fsb and it will not boot i just kicks me in Bios can you e-mail me or post it here the Full config you have in youre bios so i can se if i can run it the same way but i think i need to put more power becoes i have 2cd roms and 2 HD and 4fans so maybe the Config i see on Oc pages are not the same i think.....i saew one ont the CPU data and it ran at 2gig but its with a Wather Block and i can only use air but do you think if i put it on 1900 or 2gig with more power then normal for a OC like that it would frie my PC or will it be "ok" to use?:(
hi all i also want to overclock my 1.7 to 1.8 i have done everything but i only have 2 questions
1. what should i set the voltage to to get optimum stability in 3d gaming
2. what is rdram turbo mode and how will it affect my performance by turning it off? my temps and system are in my sig. thank you
well i have my pc at 1.775 volts and The ram turbo is off i was toled to turn it off ween OC's and just set youre FSB to 110 to get a 1.8gig and i have it this way and im runing at 35oC
works great for me trie it but i have a Ausus P4-t Mobo could or not be the same
welp i looked all around my bios for ram turbo mode and couldnt find ti anywhere! can anyone tell me under which menu it might be under? as i cannot find it :(

I don't know that there is such a setting on the Abit board. I've only seen it on the Asus P4t. Check your manual to see if it is there. Also as far as 3d games is concerned, when I want to play them I turn the fsb back. The P4 overclock does not follow the rules of normal tricks we pull with the older cpus. There is no all out discovery process by the reviewers to determine what can and can not be done with this thing. Some say the voltage is locked although I see some reaction to attempts in the asus probe program. If you look at the Hardware monitor in the bios there is no reaction to any changes that you make. I have seen stability improvements by raising the voltage but the choice selected in the bios is not the reading in the Asus Probe program so I don't know what is real and what is not. For that reason if I see instability in a program That I am trying to run I turn it down to where I know Intel warrenties it to be stable and press on. I have see a HSF made by Swiftech that goes for about 85.00 but have not been able to find a distributor. It attracted my attention because it has an exceptionally low heat transfer capability. Zalman (Korea) also makes a good HSF for 49.00 with a copper base. Again my local sources can't find a distributor. To me the investment in this system is far to great to risk water in my case so that is out of the Question. TC is the only one I've forumed with that has exceeded 2.0. The Database however shows two at 2.1+.
