I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but here it goes. I had just recently bought a slot 1 motherboard for $10 (great deal I couldn't pass up) I had a PIII 500mhz cpu stashed away so I figured that it would be perfect. The problem is I'm not to familar with the memory. It uses Rambus RDRAM RIMM and, I'm not sure of any places to get some, so if anyone knows any places like best buy or one of those type places that I could get the memory from without ordering it online, that would be a big help. Thanks.
I know that I saw some K-byte Rambus at my local Best Buy. I've never had any boards that used Rambus before, so I never look at it and don't know about compatibility issues or speeds.

You may be able to find it at Best Buy, or CompUSA. I will warn you though, it will be fairly expensive, and needs to be bought in pairs, or you need a terminator card for the empty slots.

Well the board supports 512mb max and, I plan on getting 2 256mb sticks.
Most Best Buys don't carry Rambus, the only reason mine did was due to some shipping snafu. As bchur83 stated, they are pretty expensive. I think the one I saw was a 128MB kit for like $90 pretax.

I'd say your best bet would be to scour FS/FT forums online... Typically you'll pay less then retail. Only problem is if you don't have enough time ;)

Expensive = true (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1077628470564&skuId=6475637&type=product) .

RdRam on a Slot 1 board? Are you sure this is right? The only chipset that I know of that supports Rambus is the P4 850 chipset. I could be wrong though.
You can find Rd ram on eBay all the time.
The intel 820 chipset used Rambus for slot 1. I know ASUS made one... P3C something or other.

You will need PC600 RIMMs. You can easily find it on a pricewatch search.
