Is it worth me buying the cheaper a-data vista pc4000 ram @ cas3 (I'm not going to be pushing them to anything more than 266mhz) getting two of the 512mb sticks for dual channel, or should i got for the more expensive OCZ gold pc4000, increase the volts and lower the latencies and/or increase the mhz, this coming in a 2x512mb pack?
By the way this will be for a p4 rig, ic7-max3 (Not 100% sure on the chipset, the highest northwood one tho :P)
Thanks,

Canterwood i875P chipset.
I take it this is the 3.0?

Yep, possibly not one of the legendary ones, but im looking @ 250mhz min, 266mhz aim. Just wondered if it was worth saving some money, if the cas latencies will *really* make a difference? Probably will, and im no person to skimp on PC parts (Not any more, anyhow)

Apparently not that much on those chipsets. I think it's the RAS to CAS that matters most on those chipsets. Correct me if I'm wrong, but either way at those speeds Latency will be outweighed.
Most PC4000 will run 2.5-4-3-6 with ease at 250, 1:1, even two 512 MB sticks. ADATA for sure.

Winbond Ch-5 may run 2-2-2-5 at 250 with 3.2 volt...

I've tried, but get boot problems @ 250 2-2-2-5 3.2v, higest on my CH-5 is 242 2-5-3-2 3.2v -- its great ram but half of what i need :-)
