Amd 2500+ not stable

Hi,

I want to overclock my AMD 2500+ I looked though this forum and tryed some combinaison. But in vain ... I'm now at 11.5X199 1.775 Vcore and it's the most stable that I found but with Prime 95 its failed after the test #7 how can I make it stable .... someone know I have

A7N8X-X
Amd 2500+
Pc3200 Kingston 512 DDR-400
Radeon 9600

Give us more details on your set up such as the power supply unit you have, voltage readings and memory settings. BTW welcome to the forums!

Ok there is the voltage report ...

+12V - 12.48
+5V - 4.784
+3.3V - 3.28
Vcore - 1.792

DDr voltage set at 2.6V

memory timing is set at 3-3-3-8

Guys, 2.3 ghz on a axp desktop is the norm. I think some of them top out at this level without excessive cooling. Give us your cooling&psu

I have the same processor and ram and mobo (well my mobo is actually a A7N8X Deluxe) and I hit the wall at 11.5*199 also i tried 11.5*200 at 1.825 volts even and still no go. My barton 2500+ can run at 11.5*199 at 1.775 volts but i forgot to change it back and im to lazy to go back and do it....

I ordered a SLK-900A and TT smart fan II should be here Monday or Tuesday. I'll slap that on and see if i can push it.

My experience with the mobile on an a7n8x, is that its stable up to 2275, its currently at 12.5x178 vcore1.725 2225Mhz. It can boot at 12x200 vcore 1.825, but I get random reboots, so I lowered the speed on it.

I want to try raising the voltage, but dont feel confident enought to do the volt wire trick on the board.

Thermo, i would like to know the default timings on the Kingston 512MB PC3200 Value RAM? According to your specs yours is running at 3-3-3-8 can it do something like 2.5-3-3-8? Is your CAS Latency only rated at 3?

Yah the default settings for the value ram of my kingston were 3-3-3-8 I tried agressive mode ... hum dunno the result cauz my PC was always crashing in game cauz of the instability of my CPU I didnt know it was that .... but I can try it !

For the cooling, My cpu fan is a Thermaltake Silent boost... and I have 3 fans in my case .... thats all for that thx guys Just give me stable setting plz ... I tried a lot of setting without success

yea default timings at PC3200 are 3-3-3-8 and timings at PC2700 are 2.5-3-3-8. Havent tried lowering the cas yet at PC3200
