Best gaming card for around $300?

I'm looking into buying a new gaming card for my computer. I really afford to spend more than $300. Any suggestions?

^^^ or you can get a 9800PRO and *likely* OC it to XT speeds and save $100 :D - but not garuntee's

9800PRO go for around $200 average now.

Now is a horrible time to buy a new card... except if you're gonna buy a 9800pro. Wait a little bit and either get one of the new cores or a 9800XT. Seriously, a 9800XT costs more (some models) than an x800 pro. And the x800 would PWN the x800 in ANYTHING!!!!

Best would be to get a x800 pro if you can find one. If not, I would just get a 9800 pro. Though it seems like the new x800s are a very big jump from the 9800 series.

do whatever you have to do to save up that extra $100. the increase in performance is worth it, from what owners are telling. otherwise if you dont, just spend $200 on 9800pro. the extra $ for the 9800xt isnt worth it.

wait 3 weeks for a price drop on the x800pro, it's absolutely worth it. if you MUST buy now, check out a 9800pro. it would be a real shame to buy right now though, when price drops are right around the corner and the new hardware is coming in.
