Hi. I'm a student and I work at a dairy queen (i lack lots of spending money), I'm looking for some good ram for my nf7-s rev2/XP-M 2500+ combo. I'm currently using 2x256mb of crucial pc2100 i bought like 2-3 years ago. I'm looking to upgrade but don't know what the best for the money would be for my setup. I'm noticing my 2500+ topping out at ~2.6ghz and like a 210-215mhz fsb, whether this is my motherboard or just the fact that i have pc2100 (i've been running it at pc2100 speed though) i really can't say.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i've gathered that AMD setups perform better with a low latency compared to Intel stuff where it isn't as important...true, false?

Let me know what you all think, I'm trying to get the best for the money for my setup.

Thanks,
Rudy

why dont u check the classifieds and see if anyone is selling some 2x256 modules with winbond ch5 chips. they run pretty good timings and most likely will run up to 210-215 on normal voltage, plus u can get them used pretty cheap...

the guys in the classified here will tell u what chips they are. the new stuff i believe buffalo has some ch5 chips(newegg) in the 256 modules that require 2.5v, the speedmechanic may also have a link- u might want to check with him also

ahh, i dont have the required 100 posts yet for the classifieds, i'm pretty new (only had an account here for a few days). I guess that will be good though, i can get more money saved up before i buy. :)
