a old Asus P2B-F mobo with a Celeron 433mhz sitting in the closet. I was thinking of bringing it out and playing around on it. Anyone around here have an idea of what I could get out of it?
And I only have a standard heatsink/fan that came with it back in the day. Does it need something big to keep it cooled like all the new stuff out there?

Don't know what you could get, but I would think you could get by with (I know I'll probably get flamed for this) a cheap gorb to get a few more horseys out of it, but if you are serious, get a "good" heatsink and your "play" will be more fun.

Yeah I would go for a nice big HSF... but even 30 bucks is an issue for me right now.. maybe next month or something..
You have this system sitting in your closet ?
WHY ???
Bring it out and help our Folding@Home team !!! Even if you canīt overclock at all, 433MHz are allways a great addition to the team! You are welcome to join us, as well as everybody else who happen to have systems sitting in their closets... :D
To get an idea of what overclock you can archieve with it, take a look at the CPU Database.
Good Luck !

well I don't have extra Harddrives, Cd-rom's, etc... needed to have the system running while mine is running..
But I may be able to build a second machine in a few months.
Thx for the luck, a man can never have enough of it
