hey there,

well in a few days i'll get my t-bird 1.33GHz so i'm wondering about all the other windows bugs... i've already asked about the vcache problem with high quantities of RAM... so now i'm wondering about other things... like the shutdown bug, or are there any other bugs that i should know related to the speed of the CPU, HDD, VGA or something else... i plan on using Win98se or Win ME... haven't decided yet because win ME started giving me problems lately...

thx in advance

The shutdown bug in 98 is pretty common (at least in my experience anyway) but there is a fix for it you can download at the Microsoft website if it occurs.

If you want a Microsoft OS with minimal bugs, try Win2000...

I dunno if the shutdown problem is "pre-fixed" in Me. I do know that I will be DLing that patch from MS ASAP after installing 98SE the next time! It can cause you grief.

Minimal Bugs???? are you sure, I thought Windows2000 had so many that Microsoft decided not to release 'bug fixes' but two large service packs instead.. correct me if im wrong

Well, there's going to be service packs/updates for most, if not all, Microsoft OS's (including 98). That's just the way it is. What I meant in my above post was that in comparison to Win98, in my experiences, that 2000 was more stable and ran much better overall.
