I have recently puchased a 1.4MHz Athlon TBird with a Asus A7V-266 Via KT266 motherboard, 256MB PC2100 DDR RAM a coolercase tornado and a Thermoengine V60 Heat Sink and fan. Im Quite new to overclocking and was wondering if anyone had any advice as to what FSB and Multiple settings to set it on? I know how to do this but dont want to damage my CPU by putting in the wrong settings? Any help Would be great.Thanks.

i Mean 1.4GHz.
LOL i think you mean 1.4 ghz and not mhz. Newayz I only know a little about overclocking by changing the FSB cause i own a P3. I am not very sure about changing the multiplier so you had better ask some other people. If you say that you know how to change the FSB then do something like this.
Increase FSB by 10 mhz
Do some serious stability tests like benchmarks etc.
If stability seems fine then increase another 10 mhz
Keep doing this until you begin to notice unstability
At this point reduce the FSB by 5 mhz
Now comes the tricky part
If you still want to oc further, increase the voltage
Warning only increase the voltage by about 10% not anymore Warning
Check if you system is now stable again run a few benchmarks but make sure to keep an eye on the temps
If they get too high, reduce the voltage
If teh temps are satisfactory, then keep increasing the FSB in incrimeants of 5 to 10 mhz until you find the fastest speed at which the processor is still reliable.
The first thing I would do is look at the cpu temperature. You can use motherboard monitor 5 to tell you case temp and cpu temp. The key is to not try anything drastic but to go in little steps seeing how your system reacts. The first thing I woul probably do is upp the multiplier from 10.5 to 11 giving you 1.46 GHZ. You can try any combonation of fsb and multiplier just don't go full tilt all at once.
