next gen benchmarks on next gen cards

im pretty frikin tired of site benching the next gen cards on old game tech like ut04 and quake3. i remember a little while ago when the raddeon 9800pro came out a couple of sites benched it using doom3. im pretty sure that none of the new cards have been benched using doom3 or hl2 but anybody know when we might see this. this would be the deciding factor for me and im sure for many others in regards to if and when theyre going to buy a new card.

I know right,I dont care if it does 700fps on quake,I only want 85.

Right, Doom 3 and HL are still in the beta stages so its stupid to do benchmarks on them...

And about Quake 3 etc its only the stuff we have in are hands @ the moment, see all these great cards come out but you forget that Game developers are abit behind...

And whats wrong in using Farcry etc and 3dMark2003 etc?.. o.O

I said "Some" of these benchmarks are outdated.

And I think quake3 is one of them.

Whats wrong with farcry adn 3dmark03? well it seems like many people on this form this that 3dmark is just te most entertaining thing in the world but i dont see the big deal. its not like we can interact with it in any way. ive played farcry and i really dont think its that great. Halo is a far superior game in my opinion. hl2 and doom3 is what the people want.

ut04 is far from an outdated game. UT04 and farcry are very good and fun next gen games that can be used well as benchmarks.

ut04 is based on a a grapics engine that is over a year old.. the games are ok but thats not the point. the only games i am looking forward to are hl2 and doom3. i want to see how they run on the next generation hardware as do many other people im sure.

I think Farcry is the most demanding game out there right now and that is a pretty good benchmark for future games. If you can crank up the res to 1600x1200 with max aa and af in Farcry I would think you would be able to play Doom and Half Life reasonably well. Actually I think Farcry stole a little of their thunder there still going to impress, but I was amazed when I saw Farcry.

ok... your argument for not liking 3dmark is kinda weird. 3dmark isnt supposed to be interactive, its supposed to be able to compare cards. And ok, so ut04 is based on a 1yr old engine. So what its 1 year old. Also farcry is alot more demanding and realistic than halo.

all im sayin is that people wanna know how the new cards will run the new games. will the radeon beat the geforce or vice versa in hl2 and doom3? maybe i dont even need a new card and my 9500 will be ok.

It doesnt matter if you like the game or not, farcry is a VERY demanding game and I almost exclusively look for that game in benchmarks

I coudn't believe the colors and vibrance of that game when i first got the demo.

I like aquamark too.its short and sweet but can bring you from 100fps to 7fps in an instant.

Light enough for midrange cards to be able to see good fps and then strong enough for bringin it hard!

Thats cool.not like 3dmark 2k1 where ur gettting over 200fps most of the time.
