I know this is a topic that has probably been beaten into the ground but I'll just bring it up in case anyone has any new ideas.

On the KT7A the FSB is pretty limited. I can't get mine above 140 without causing instabliity. There are a few people that get them even higher, though. To those people who are running their FSB at 150+, are there any special tips or tricks you used to achieve this? THanks in advance.

(I would have posted this in AMD motherboards but the group seems dead)

It all depends on the components you have in your machine. The PCI bus starts to really get out of wack when you up in fsb, if the cards can't take the higher speed the cause instability. Another big one is your ram, sometimes setting it to CAS 3 will help at higher speeds.

The PCI bus runs at 32 MHz at 145 and 145 is unstable. The PCI bus runs at 35 MHz at 140 and 140 is stable.

I tried setting my RAM to slow settings, no interleave and CAS3 and it didn't help. My RAM has been tested stable at 166 MHz at CAS2 and 4-way interleave anyway.

Thanks for the advice, though.

On my KT7A I use NEC Virtual Channel memory VC133. With the 1.2 chip, set the multiplier at 9 and then up the fsb. First try 149fsb with the Vcore at 1.8 and see how that goes. Memory timings should be Fast/Fast/Fast/2. Enable 4way.

If this works then start upping the fsb at 1fsb increments. You should be able to get it up to about 156 - 159fsb, if you have good CPU cooling, and a good PSU.
