Ok please help me out.
I have the gigabyte 9600se . Yes, i know that it is a piece of poop, but i cant afford anything else. I am trying to overclock it, but when i do, the settings just go back to default immedietly!! I have tried Rage 3d tweak, and
Radlinker. I change the frequencies, apply, and then when i exit out of that, and then go back in the settings are the same!!! please someone help me out..
thx
Is this with a clean install of windows, new drivers and the latest rage 3d tweak? Are you clicking OK when that window comes up saying it is going to apply the speeds? Did you restart?

perhaps the bios is locked ?
Actully, what version of catalyst are you running? maybe ati locked those things in their new drivers. you should try ati tool as well, since rage 3d is more for enabling features than it is for overclocking. just do a search on google for ati tool. but thats really weird. none of my atk cards have had any problems with rage 3d. you should install older drivers and see what happens. i didnt upgrade from 3.10 untill 4.4 came out with better shader optimization.
just my 2 cents.

When you tried using RadLinker, did you click the "Set" button after you adjusted the sliders??? You need to click that button BEFORE hitting apply/OK. Otherwise your clock speeds will drop back down to default.

Yes with radlinker u MUST hit set then if u want them to be applied at next boot u must set them as bios defaults....it isn't the card it seems like what u r using or how u r doing it....give ATi Tool a go that will do it 4 u just get the older version(not the newest as it SUCKS!!!) and let that do it's thing 4 about 30min. Also if u want after that u can manuly do it as u get 3-10 mhz more then what ATi tool says....just use 01se and 03 and your favorite games to check for artifacts.
