Well my case is still weird. I invested in 2 80mm titan 36.6 cfm fans for front intake, and one 42 cfm 92 mm for rear exhaust. The room this is all setup in has a temp of about 23-24 C. The WBK 38 does a great job, keeping the CPU idle temp of my 1200@1333 one degree over case temp. Problem is that my case temp is at 37 degrees C! Even if I leave my case wide open, the case temp won't budge, and thus, my CPU won't get any cooler then 37 C idle, and much to high under load. The rig is stable as it is, but I really want more speed from it. I can't belive that I'll have to put up with even more noise then I have already.

All IDE cables are neatly rounded up, and tucked away to the side. Anyone have any suggestions?

System:

T-bird AXIA Y 1200 266 @1333 (10X133)
MSI K7T 266 Pro R
Addtronics 6890A case
256 Mb 2100 cas 2,5 ddr ram
GeForce 2 MX-400 64 Mb sdram

Oh, and by the way, I can't get this rig to post at a higher multiplier than 10, and when I touch the FSB speeds, it get's very unstable in both win2k and winME.

Like I said, about 23-24 degrees C...

I think that the thermistor that measures your system temp may be faulty. I haven't heard of a case temp that doesn't go down when the case door or cover is removed - especially if your room temp is 23-24c.

You might want to try this: take of the case's door, turn the fan on the heatsink around that it blows the hot air out of the top. Take a piece of cardboard, round it like a tube and use it as a duct. You will then know for sure that there isn't much hot air dumped in the case. If you case temps don't go down your thermistor is almost certainly dead.

Hope this helps ;)

Ok, Iv'e been suspecting that there may be a problem with the sensor. My cpu temp report at about 38 C idle. What is interesting though is that it only raises to about 43-45 after running SETI for 20 mins. I probably will need more cooling if i want to get this thing running faster, but I am unsure about what I need. Should I fire up my jigsaw and start to make some 120mm holes in the case or what?

I would sort out the case cooling you have at the moment first before cutting more holes.
It is better to have slight positive pressure within a case as this reduces the chance of hotspots and keeps the air moving through the case.
The two 80mm 36.6 cfm intake fans, and one 42 cfm 92 mm exhaust fan may be possibly moving the same amount of air (or close enough) if you remember to count the fan in the PSU. A system moving the same amount of air on exhaust as intake increases the chance of creating a hotspot inside the case and this is what you have possibly made imho.
