Hey TC, you weren't joking about the processing power of the Epox with a Palomino. Got mine hooked up yesterday - 8K7A, 1.2 @ 1.404, Corsair PC2400. Doing WU's in 3hr 40min. 'AR' = .4xx

Awesome cruncher.

Cool I thought you would like it :) Really sad when you consider I have a P4 @ 2GHz that can only muster around 3 hours 15 minutes  Just shows the difference in efficiency.

Here is an interesting delema. Yesterday morning, I moved the PC to a cooler room - the room that it was in was at about 80f. It had done 2 WU's with settings at 162x9 = 1.458 temp at load 51c, before moving it. When I hooked the computer up in it's new spot - room temp at 70f - it would not post. I had to knock it down to 156x9, CPU load temp at 42c. Ran all night without a flaw. This morning I bumped the fsb up to 157. I'll let it go for 24hrs, CPU temp at 44c.

What is interesting - Setispy still reports it as 1458mhz which would be 162x9. I have tweeked a couple of other PC's and Setispy reports the proper CPU speed after the tweak's.

Just curious as to why Setispy is reporting 1458mhz instead of 1413mhz.

You can get the board for $120 at newegg. The 1.2GHz Palomino runs around $220 last time I checked. 128 meg stick of Corsair pc2400 goes for $48 at Minotaur: total = $388 without tax or shipping. Pretty hard to beat that price to performance ratio.
