Its Not Fair!!!!

Ok guys....listen to this...This girl my girlfriend knows is only about 12 or 13....her dad works sort of with computers....hes always at this resturaunt with this laptop and parts...all the time..really freindsly with the people...so hes there one day, leaves...he gets a call not 20minutes later ...its someone from the resturaunt saying "Hey man come get ur laptop" he tried arguing with the guy saying he had his already...so he comes down there...and they said there was this one left in his spot....He tells the people it isnt his..and they actually wait a few days and ask around...nobody claims it....he checks for tags or numbers...NONE...the bottom was completely clean too. They boot it up, its winxp pro...no password, no personal documents....just winxp and office xp.. So the guy gives it to her! shes like 13. Only uses it for AIM, and email...well..she has it hooked up to her dsl....it got bombarded with viruses, worms, spyware...there was something like 24 virus/worms and 1200 peices of spyware...needless to say there was no recovering it......most i could do was get into my computer and look at its specs....its:

1.6ghz p4
384megs of ram
20gig hdd
64mb ati video card


FREE!...so i go to work on it....it fights me alittle getting winxppro back on but i succeed. Its really grown on me...normally i hate laptops...but this one handles so nicely...no mouse problems...easy to type on....ive been testing it all week because i wont be able to help her much since shes moving away....i really dont wanna give it back! i must...but i dont wanna....ive even unlocked uxtheme.dll ....

Dont try to rationalize life as fair vs unfair. Thinking about life like that will just give you high blood pressure and a midlife crisis.

And besides, this girl got a free laptop, but someone is looking for a laptop they paid money for. Fair for one, but unFair for the other.

So true. I'd sure hate to be the the guy that lost this laptop. Contratary to my wishes, laptops don't just appear out of mid air.

i find it odd though, they waited a while....i mean, if i lost somehting like that id retrace everywhere i went....seems really odd to me. Its a beutiful laptop...
