Divx Codec

Does anyone know where I can download the latest version of Divx, just by itself not like the one at divx.com. The reason I am asking is because I am trying to fit it on a floppy, and I cant find a way I can do that. Thanks if you can help.

Why on a floppy? for what reason? just curious. FYI you don't have to have the latest version to play divx files. Just version 5.XX the 5.1 and so on are just enhancements on the encoding abilities not the playback. Try looking at the divx player at divx.com or wherever it is. I believe it playes all divx and is like 600K

Well the reason that I need it on a floppy is because I am currently using a computer at the public library and, the only way, that I can save something from these computers is by floppies. The machine I have at home is currently without internet for at least another month, so I have been just saving all of my DVDs to Divx to pass the time. The reason that I want the latest version of Divx is because, I was reading at divx.com about the improvements and it would make sense to update from 5.01 to the newest one.

Why don't you use an archiving tool like winrar (http://www.winrar.com) to compress and/or split up the file so that it fits on one or more floppies?

Library systems most likely don't have those capabilities.

Does it have to be Divx?
Xvid is also good at a size of 700k.

Well that sounds good but can the newer DVD players with divx decoding support Xvid also?
