Hey Guys-

I am kind of new to water cooling and was wondering what is the difference in cooling between the cube-type radiators (like the one on Danger Den) and and the flat ones, like the Hayden 676 that I have heard mentioned a lot

There are so many out there, but I am looking for a copper one, right (I will be using a copper water block)?

Can you suggest me the best copper radiators for the money and where I can find them (since I am on a budget)?

Lastly,
Thanks for your help!

Regardless what radiator you get, the pipes are copper wrapped with aluminum fins.

For the best cooling per square inch, grab the Danger Den cube. There is no other radiator that can mount in your case unobtrusively yet still give great performance.

PLUG: Much testing (with OCH standard radiators and DD) have proven that DD comes out in top for the dollar. A testament is that we only carry their product. Only the best.

Now, there is an exception. Black Ice. I have read some reviews where it is better than DD, some say nay. Unfortunately since the main company is in the Asia-Pacific, I could not readily order, stock, and test any against the DD.

True, the Black Ice is supposed to be excellent, but it definitely ain't cheap at about $80.

or you could go with a bong. So far I've spent around $40 on mine. The drawback is you can't fit it into your case and they are fairly big. besides that, I think that they kick the crap out any radiator you can throw at it.

bong coolers give the best results for the money. As far as radiators the Cube is tops. On a budget, get a heater core radiator.

I used a heater core from a 91 Ford Escort, $35 new from Pep boys. It's big ~6.5"x7.5"x2" but it fits four 80mm fans like a glove.
Also it's aluminium so you have to use an additive like Redline to prevent corrosion. It is working great for me! With four 24 cfm fans pulling away from it my Duron 800 at 1064 Mhz idles at 35 C and maxes out at 40 C with an ambient around 26 C. I looked around and there are other similar heater cores avail. You will have to mod the fittings but that's half the fun! I will have to post the construction pics someday, the side view is attached to my profile.

Why don't you go to an auto salvage yard and try to pick up a heater core from a 91-98 Ford Ranger? It will cost you about $10 and it works great.
