Hi, welcome to the forums =]
I'll try to answer some of your questions if I can, there are others here more suited to some (or all) of them though.
1. I'm not familiar with the Swiftech block, but The DD Maze 2 is an excellent design and is probably better. The swiftech blocks I know of are all aluminum or aluminum and copper. If that is the case with the one you mentioned then the DD block is probably better since it's all copper.
2. I believe there are a few people here currently attempting this here. Check out the search function and look for threads involving this. Also, check out the alt modding forum. I've heard of people doing it i the past but with not overly good results. It seems to be more work than it's worth and you'd really need to protect against condensation. It would probably be eaier and more efficient to go with a watercooled TEC setup.
3. I'm not too sure about the liquid combos out there. I'm still in the middle of setting up my own water system. 70% water, 20% anti freeze and 10% water wetter pops into my head, but I could be off the mark on that one. Again, check out the search function, there have been many threads on this topic in the past.
4. Sorry, I can't say I know of any sites for phase change cooling. You can check out the cool links on the front page, you never know what you'll find there. The front page is also a great place to find all kinds of articles on different water cooled setups and individualt components.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck and I hope enjoy your stay with us here.
