Ive had my watercooling setup since the beginning of January now and still havent decided on a new case because of wanting to fit the radiator in the front low intake spot, and not wanting a chieftec or something like that, and not wanting to mod at all :)
So I was looking through some galleries, as you do... for inspiration and noticed quite alot of people mount them on the top of their cases, I knew some people did this.. but not as many as i saw in galleries :) anyway.. I picked up my case last week and it was VERY heavy with all that water in it, so I was wondering, how safe is it to mount a radiator full of water on the top of the case, is it not likely to bend the case, or worst case scenario.. pull the screws through the top and fall onto all the precious PC parts?
Would certainly give me more options with cases if its 100% safe :d

thankje

its very unlikly, but if u have those cheap flimsy alumium cases (usually sell for 30 bucks.. with a PSU!) then u might want to use a washer with those screws.. it should be fine.

Hasn't hurt my case at all. Keep in mind that it weighs 40lbs empty, and is anything but flimsy.

Should work fine in most cases (no pun intended) though.

i plan on doing that next with my system, radiator in the back is annoying

The only problem is the comp gets REALLY top heavy. Think about having a copper radiator filled with water, a PSU, all your optical drives and most of your hard drives plus some other heavy stuff above the centerline of the case.

Other than that, this is really the perfect setup.

Works fine for me in my aluminum AMS gtower, and worked in my steel cheiftec.

It should work fine... I cut the front out of my $25 Skyhawk aluminum job for the rad and still use the case as a seat. Now I'm a pretty light person (85-90lbs!! I'm 15 and 5'3". Kinda sad), but I still weigh more than a rad would...

BTW, I'm still using the 550w no-name PSU that came with my case for an extra $3. That thing's built like a tank! Heavy as sh*t too.
