W2k networking

How do i set up a account for a winMe machine to access the files on my win2k machine? My win2k machine keeps asking me for a password even though i never set one. I need help please.

you must log into winme with the same password and login stuff as u use on your 2k machine

You go to the user and groups in computer management on the 2K machine. Double click on the appropriate group that you want this machine to use. I recommend poweruser. Then when you get to the list of things selections, you go to the drop down tab at the top and change it to your workgroup/domain and select that machine.

You can log in the same on either machine all you want, if you dont give that Me Computer an account you'll just have to type the same password everytime you try and access the 2K machine.

I had a simalar prob, ive got 2 98se machines talking to a win2k machine. I had to create users on the win2k machine, the same as the the user names used to log into the 98 machines.:cool:
