I was thinkin about gettin this (http://www.circuitspecialists.com/prod.itml/icOid/6860) for my mcp600. It a volt shy of your desired 16 though.

Yeh basicly you need a 16v psu (or and adustible psu)

You don't mod the pump, you just feed it the particular voltage that you want to.

this is what im using:

http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2004052307520602&item=15-1158&catname=electric

but i would suggest getting something else with it, they charge $1.95 handling & fairly high shipping charges

ummmm...?

ok.... i cut off the molex end of the D4's power cord and cut off the "round plug" end on that transformer. then i spliced the "+" wire off the transformer to the "+" wire of the pump and the....(you get the idea?)
OR you could cut off the "round plug" and put a molex plug onto the transformer's cord...(if you dont want to cut up the D4s cord) but if your running it @ 16V you shouldnt be worried about voiding the warranty (you already did)

then i plug the transformer into to the powerstrip that my PC is plugged into. (DONT run the pump DRY (without water)) so after i turn off my PC i turn off the powerstrip and all pump(s) go off, then when i want to turn on the PC; ill HAVE to turn on the powerstrip (and pumps etc) b4 i can turn on the PC. that way the PC will NEVER be on without the pump(s) being on.

GOOD LUCK

i'd add the molex to the transformer... just in case you decide that 16V is too noisy and want to revert to 12....
